So I redid Priest's another thing coming solo

Well it seems to be in key and the tone is nice. Doesn't make me stand up and salute though. Way too much delay and lots of random noodling. Any cool phrasing you might have going on is obfuscated by that wall of delay.

Not to be a dick but it's hard to stand up to the original. Glen Tipton is an underrated monster.

I just didn't feel like doing it note for note. A lot of the other songs we do I actually play the solos for the most part note for note. Thie levels on this recording are way too high and its raw as hell. No editing here lol

But for live playing, I do it like this just to change it up a bit. I agree with you though, there's no way to go head to head with a memorable solo imo.

I redid tge solo and adjusted the levels.
Getting there I think. Lol

I redid the whole thing again.
This the last time, I promise.

I dug it. Tipton used to mix it up live as well and this is in the same vein and had good vibrato. Priest approved for me!

I never care if it is note for note. Sometimes there are recognizable melody lines that I like to hear in but I would much rather hear your take. If I wanted the original...I'll listen to the original. Good job!

Thanks dude.

I also like to try and retain the memorable phrases when I improvise. People remember them and imo expect to hear them somewhere in the improv.
I do anyway..

Glen and KK were great together. Same as Dave and Adrian. Man those were great years for metal.
