...and it was killer! My buddy techs for Chris and James so I went backstage and got to see the rigs. They definitely are playing JVMs. The DM cabs are really cool looking and sound killer. Got to hear them onstage before the show and they have dispersion unlike other Marshall cabs. Very cool, I have two coming so I am psyched to get them.

Broderick is fucking flawless. Plays those incredible runs and doesn't even look at the guitar while he does it.

Mustaine killed it as well. He is one of my all time favorite guitarists/songwriters ever in metal. Maybe my fave.

Lomenzo is really good and his bass tone was killer. Huge and fat with a tad bit of grind. Sat nicely in the mix.

This is the second time I have seen them with Shawn Drover on drums and I got the same impression this time that I did back then...boring. He just doesn't play anything interesting, IMO. He's not a bad drummer, just not much fun to watch.

Anyway, the show was great despite the 40 degree weather...it was an outside show in San Antonio. I froze my ass off but it was worth it.

Broderick is amazing! Killer guitarist!

Agreed about Shawn Drover. I think boring is the best way to put it. He seems to skimp out on the drumming; talented and all that but he's just not interesting or energetic.

Broderick is a monster and glad to hear that Dave is doing well this tour!

Yeah, not very cool to show up with a camera when you are guest of a crew member.

is it really bad form to take picture of a band's gear if you're backstage? i mean, it's not like it's top secret information or anything. i'm not trying to be a jerk at all, i just don't really see the issue i guess

Don't really care for the revolving door of lead guitarists in the band and Broderick bores me on the new disc but a Megadeth show is still double metal!

Well, I did it of respect because I am also a touring guitar tech and it is just bad form to show up and take pics. He very well may not have cared. That being said, if it wasn't a big deal there would be pics of their touring rigs all over the net and, to my knowledge, there aren't.

Right on! It was a great show, you should try to catch if it comes nearby.

The American Carnage tour will be killer. Megadeth, Slayer, and Testament! Going to that one in January, maybe I can get some pics in then. Believe me, I'd love to have some!

Not in Megadeth anymore. Not sure what he will use when he does other stuff. :dunno:

JVM's? They aren't even good enough for much of the internet scene.

j/k

Going to see them with Slayer and Testament in Feb at Detroit!!!!

Cant wait!
Going to be a HELLUVA metalfest!!!!

This incarnation of Megadeth is prolly the best. And yes I think Marty and Nick were incredible.

Good stuff! I saw them in '98 and they kicked much ass!

I here ya. Plus you dont want to be "that guy". And sometimes the artist can be a little touchy about stuff like that. I tour for a living also - as a monitor guy.
