Depends on the amp/circuit. If you want to push power tube saturation without destroying your ears low watt is the way to go. I just built a 5 watt Marshall style amp that sounds great. Beautiful EL34 saturation without the ear bleeding volume, but still enough to rock. Put a tube screamer in front it's pure bliss.

My set requires some headroom for some clean tones. I have a 15 watt Gibson but that thing is always breaking down.. I like Twins because they are loud and reliable and most of all cheap. Also guys get upset when I tell them I gig with it on 10, so that's kinda nice too.
