I have been a disciple of classic rock, riff rock, and blues. Never really into EVH much. Rush/Zep/blues was it.

I am ready to burn some time on learning some VH.

What are a few good songs that cover his signature licks.

I will not be getting the EVH tennis shoes to play better...

I would have to say 'Unchained' should be on the list. I think that riff is EVH.

Runnin' with the Devil is a great starting point...killer dynamic riffs and simple solo.
Dance the Night Away is another cool riff and a great intro to his tapped harmonics.
Hot for Teacher is a great overall workout that showcases both cool licks/solos and his awesome feel for rhythm.

I'm the One, Mean Streets and Eruption. Throw in those solos from One Foot Out the Door as a bonus.

I would go with:

Panama
Dance The Night Away and
Runnin' With The Devil

Feel Your Love Tonight
Little Dreamer (great solo and chord structure)
Women In Love (Tapping is tricky, but the verse and chorus structure is easy enough)

I would say start with the first note of VHI and end with the last note of 1984.

Dance the night away is deceptively easy - I say start with this one!

I'm going to say "I'm The One" because I recently figured that one out.
