So Myles Kennedy...

i got into Alter Bridge about 3 years ago, then saw them live in 2010 and was massively disappointed, they had the worst front of house sound i've ever heard, and the performance was a bit lacking too for me. Since i've seen them have horrible mixes on Jay Leno and several live clips, Mark Tremonti's tone on the clip above is horrible and Myles looks like a guy who's done 900 shows in the last 3 years (which he has more or less), i think he needs a break...

Sounds like a Hamster on a rack. Hate his voice. The pool of singers out there must be pretty shallow if this guy has become the go to choice for a "rock" vocalist.

I like him but the guy In Shinedown has a better tone to his voice IMHO. But nobody touches Jorn Lande. To me he's like the perfect hard rock singer. But I'm sure someone will chime in and shit all over him. :D

Loved Brent's voice on the first album, and the songs were solid. Then on the second one, it sounds like his voice went through about 20 years of touring in only a couple years... I don't know, just never sounded the same to me after Leave a Whisper. Also, not sure when guitarist Jason Todd left, but the songwriting has steadily gotten worse, especially on the last disk.

And yes, whoever said Blackbird was AB's best was spot on. The title track is absolutely amazing. III is cool but doesnt quite compare.

Yeah new alter bridge is not even close to as good as blackbird
All 3 Alter Bridge albums are good, but different. If you listen to ABIII looking for Blackbird part II, you'll be disappointed. But it stands on its own as a great album. Much darker and heavier than their previous stuff, but also really good.

Somebody referred to Myles as sounding 'like a baby in a blender'...  He's one of my favorite singers though...The guy really works hard and warms up for an hour or more every show.

AB III wasn't nearly as good as Blackbird, but it had a few winners on there...Oh, and they were pretty on point when I saw them live this past summer.

1st and 3rd AB albums are ok.

Blackbird is one of my favorite all time albums. It's brilliant.

Everybody should do themselves a favor and make sure they get all the songs from the album. For example the Best Buy version has IMO arguably the best AB song or at least my favorite in "The Damage Done" which isn't on all the releases.

Honestly I'd rather hear Myles Kennedy play lead than Tremonti. Not a fan of his lead playing at all.

It's not his playing I can't handle, it's his lead tone. Get off the wah already. Let's build this awesomely thick lead tone with a Mesa and Two Rock, and then cut 80% of the frequencies out by stepping on a pedal, brilliant.

Hey man, thanks for the heads-up. I didn't realize my copy of Blackbird was missing a song! :D I'm going to check it out on youtube.

M.K. is very good with SLASH. I don't know or care to know about Alter Bridge. I have heard they are good, but just can't get into that whole thing.

Myles is one of my favorite singers of the past decade, but I gotta agree with you. I've seen AB three times. The first time was after their first album and his voice was sooooaaring! The last time I saw them, he had developed a habit of 'talk-singing' many of his lines which I presume is to give his voice a break. I was very disappointed I the Live in Amsterdam DVD cuz he did A LOT of that.

I'll continue to support AB, and I love what Myles did with Slash, but something doesn't sit right with me as a fan to have the band guys going back and forth with Creed then AB.

The Damage Done is a fav of mine too, killer song!

to me, the 1st album showed the potential, Blackbird was the culmination of the potential, and III was over the hill already. Tremonti wrote alot of the 1st album himself, Blackbird they all wrote together, and III sounds like Myles wrote it himself while the other guys were screwing around with Creed. Tremonti writes great riffs but Myles has better tone and lead feel

One day remains was written by tremonti almost entirely and it really just showcased Myles voice. Blackbird is so legendary because they realized Myles wasn't just a hell of a singer he was a musician. An amazing song writer and guitarist. I think AB3 was simply a rushed project musically. If they spent as much time on it as they did blackbird it would've been just as epic.
Myles is probably the most talented rock singer going now.. Gives us a break from the scream-o and emo bullshit. Finally a world class musician with a ridiculous vocal range. If I did as many shows as they did I'd prolly find ways to preserve my voice too.
As far as mark I grew up playing guitar to Creed lol I know, sad. But he was actually an amazing songwriter..
I do agree his tone sucks though. But you can't deny his chops and the guy has paid his dues.
I mean come on, he was just a mediocre mainstream guitarist and now he's almost considered a guitar god. He's payed his dues.
Unfortunately I think he's transferred to more of a solo-er rather than a song writer. I guess his ideas are just getting predictable...
In essence I think those of you looking forward to The Tremonti Project his solo album you may find it to be similar to One Day Remains with more speed and solos..
My $0.02

Mark Treminti can play some serious guitar, I just stood in front of him for 30 minutes while he did it.

I might have to agree with you.. listened to some live stuff he did with Slash and i find him pitchy. It can grate on the ears after a while. When he tries to cop Axl is when he really sucks... do your own thing, don't try to pull an 80's Axl. As for Alter Bridge me, I listened to that tune, not my thing. I'm stuck in the 80's.
