Yes, my daughter is close friends with some Albanian girls. They are Orthodox Christians and have made nice friends for her.

Could've just been the particular people you met. I had a Brazilian bassist in my group in 2016....never had any issues with the guy other than he had a tendency to rush tempos though at the time that was the least of my worries, musically speaking.
