So the problem that causes the Rebel 30 line out to quit

is it a problem with the Renegade too? Apparently there was a design problem in older Rebel 30s where the line out quits after a few hours. Played this weekend with my Renegade and recorded a gig. About two hours in, there was no signal coming from my amp. We didn't diagnose it so I don't know if the amp was the problem or not. Just looking for possibilities.

I thought the problem with the rebel di was a missing resistor that caused noise. I've had no problems with my record out on the rebel.

No, apparently it was a missing Op amp that would cause the line out to fail after a couple of hours. Happened on mine. Egnater issued a FCO and it was repaired under warranty.

The problem also applied to the early Renegade models. It was actually a design error that was entirely my fault. Not a missing resistor that was left out in production. I inadvertently did not give one of the ICs in the cabinet filter circuit a correct DC path to ground. Over time (1-2 hours) the voltage on that pin would very slowly drift until it caused the IC to stop passing the signal. There is a simple modification that anyone with decent soldering skills could perform. If, in the meantime, if you wish to use the recording out, you can safely just turn the power off for a few minutes and when you turn it back on, the XLR output will work for another hour or two, until you can get it fixed. The mod has no effect on the sound or performance of the recording out so you will not hear any change after the mod, other than it will work properly forever.
Email me at begnater@aol.com if you would like the information.

How refreshing to hear you take full blame on the not so easy to ground the DC circuit problem.
I bought both Rebel heads a no problems except the 365 plate volts really pushes these power tubes .

So i ask for higher draw power tubes from now on !
Power tube distortion is awesome but you must have robust tubes.
I take responcibility for red plating a tungsol 6v6gt and a RI mullard el84 a month apart.

I never saw a cathode coating turn to ash and fall to the bottom of a tube before.
