The JVMs are not great for the "classic" Marshall tone, IMO. Look at Splawn. They're pretty great.
You can get 2204s all day long in your budget, if you just want to cut to the chase and get the real thing.
The Orange Rockerverb is a great amp, really powerful sound.
Laney is good, the GH50 is what you'd want.
EDIT: If you loved the Stilleto Ace, why not just get another one? Chances of another one having issues beyond needing a tube swap is very low...
