So....What are you boosting your Blackstar HT5 with?

I haven't received mine yet, but have already been thinking of boosting it

I have a MXR 10 band EQ to play around with and will try some different preamp tubes, but don't currently have a boost pedal.... thinking of picking up a Maxon OD808, because I like that pedal with just about every amp I have ever used it with. Any other suggestions?

Will also try the little beasty out with my Axe Fx....and will probably run it through my Mesa Simul Satellite too

I love using a boost pedal, but I don't think you're gonna need it with that amp! But if you're gonna get one, those Maxon's are nice.

I don't think you need a boost. It honestly has tons of gain on the drive channel, really nice sound. The clean channel, gets to some breakup when you push the volume, and the clean channel doesn't have much depth, so I am not sure how well a boost will sound on that channel..

Have you tried an OCD? I played a version 4 OCD on Paiges Avenger and i loved how it sounded.

I'm using an EQ for boost on the clean channel and the OD side. Mind you, I'm chasing Plexi and JMP tones so I need the gain down on the OD but the boost in volume from an EQ makes it a bit punchier. I also just started using a Fulltone FB-3. Simply outstanding pedal for adding transparent dirt and more volume. I'm loving the clean channel with this pedal. Lots of voxy chime. I'm going into a Custom made dovetailed pine closed back 2x12 with a Hellatone and a V-30.
