So, what will the Hagen give me that the VH4 doesn't?

Love my VH4, gassing for a Hagen (off in the future so I can save up some $$$). Is it just butt-head stupid to have both?

Be careful... if you end up cheating, you might get the gift that keeps on giving! GAS that is... and Mo and these guys arent helping out any!

Haha, I love how when a topic has nothing to do with the herbert, there will ALWAYS be a herbert owner saying something about it.

That's like going to a supermarket for some milk and at the registry someone suggest you should've chosen the herbert flavor instead.

  :D

Just saying! He wanted something really different than the VH4. Every clip i've heard of the Hagen sounds like a better/less compressed VH4.

Had the chance to play all Diezel models recently in the same sitting, and I also own a VH4. Are you crazy for wanting the Hagen? Not at all. It's in the same family of tone as the VH4, but I found its unique point to be the definition on the attacks. Punchy isn't even the right word. When you start to approach "fun" volume levels it slaps you with every attack, on every channel! I've never played an amp like it as far as that goes. For whatever reason, I found it a bit easier to play than the VH4. The responses seemed to be a bit more forgiving. That said I love the VH4 and will keep it, but my next Diezel would be a Hagen.

The Herbert is an excellent amp as well, but if you already like the VH4 I think you'd be pleased with the Hagen. The Herbert is a completely different animal. Pristine cleans and smooth leads. The Hagen, to me, is much more of a bow to the legacy of the VH4. If you love the VH4 you really would love the Hagen as well.

Having owned a VH4 and currently owning the Hagen, to me, the Hagen is superior. Channels 2 and 4 are noticably better IMO. The channel 3s are a tie. I think the Hagen's channel 3 can damn near sound like the VH4s channel 3, not vice versa. Channel 4 on the Hagen is a whole new ballgame. I hated channel 4 on my VH4. Mushy and undefined. The VH4 can leave you wanting/needing a bit more "juice". The Hagen delivers in spades yet can be dialed back if needed.
