I'm interested in picking up some traveling guitars... Not my vintage Lesters, ahem.

Love ESP, already have some Horizons, great axes. But of the Eclipse varietal (not LTD, just to be clear), are there any models other than the honey-burst that come stock with passive pups?? I'd love to pick a couple up - vintage black, black-burst, blue, fuck, I don't care, even the "honey-burst", but man, I'm kinda done with constantly going to my tech to have him remove active EMGs and replace them with (usually BKP) passives

Thanks for the intel. I'm sure I could research this matter independently but why not ask this wondrous community of gear heads their collective thoughts on the matter? :D

I remeber seeing a number of them with Duncan's. But those were the older pre lawsuit 4 knob long horn versions

I think the silver sparkle did...just switch to the emg 57? I think it's closer spec to passive

I'll likely pick up the honey-burst to test drive it.
If it's good, then I'd like to get the vintage satin black and likely swap out the pups.

My Horizons are incredible players. Hands down incredible. I've come to the realization it's better to have amazing players that aren't worth a fortune as "every day guitars" rather than museum pieces that I worry about.

Get back to kicking it - play hard, wear hard - don't worry about 'em. ESP make killer axes.

I personally would just search out for guitars you love playability, feel and looks wise. Changing the stock pickups is kind of minor money wise compared to buying for certain stock pickups.

Hell I sure as shit ain't no royalty

I was on their site - they seemed to offer more passive pup axes a few years ago than they do nowadays. I was obviously on their site - but I was somewhat perplexed to see most of their guitars are active equipped. That's it that's all. Of the Horizons I picked up, 1 came with SDs, the others actives (which were swapped out).

That's all I was asking, Your Honour :salute:
