I've always liked the modular concept, I'd really like to own a nice Egnater MOD50 or a Randall MTS, but they're a bit expensive for what I want. I just want a little powerful amp to play with modules and practice/record, play some clubs.

can the RM20 do this? is there enough power ?

the Randall RM20 is a really cool little amp.it has MORE than enough power for home use and can be sufficient, imo, for most small clubs.definately a great "bang-for-your-buck" amp...also,there's plenty of modules to choose from to fit your style of playing

how much can I expect to pay for a used one ? and how much are the modules going for?

a clean, used RM20 head sells for around $400-$450 tops.the modules, used, range from about $100 to $200 depending on which one & whether it's a "signature" series one...if you're seriously interested in the mts stuff, other than keeping an eye out for used stuff on evilbay, keep an eye out here:

...alot of great guys on that forum too(some are here,on rig-talk,also)

I think it would fit the bill nicely. Love my RM20. Had Friedman work some magic on it as well, but even in stock form its killer for how flexible it is.

and there is also this coming out in a month or 2

oh great, then I'll wait for it....but what's the dif. between that and the RM50 ? the RM50 takes two modules too right?

The head in the pic is an RM22. It can do 20 watts and can take 2 modules. The RM22 and RM20 also have a built in boost function where you can increase the volume and gain(like a very transparent od pedal) while the RM50 only has a volume boost. If you want it for bedroom practice I would suggest the RM20 or RM22.

I want it for everything, bedroom/recording/gigging small clubs. Can it get loud enough for a small club (200 -300 people)

?

how much is this RM22 gonna go for? and how much is an RM50 going for?

I have kicked this around also and I think that I am going to go for the 50 or 100. No, I don't really need that much power but I do want at least two module spaces and I prefer the big glass to the EL84's. FWIW. I do like the idea of the 22 watter though.

I love my RM20. One of the best amp decisions I've ever made.

I have an Egnater Mod50 rig, but now, I can have the same tone in a smaller practice sized setup, for bedroom/small gig use.

Dave ,
Did you hear a retail price on these .I had heard in the range of $900-1000 .Is this correct??
