Hi guys,
I like to share some experience with recently NCD. I took about 3 months to get Bogner 4x12 cab for reasonable price in EU. Buddy of mine have one and I have chance to hear it with my current rig (Masotti X3M pre + Slave 100 poweramp) and it sounded almost perfect so I decided to get one. I already have VHT Fatbottom with V30 (2 Mesa and 2 '06 china).
Frontloaded cabs have that punchy 'in Your face sound' and very tight bottom. Fatbottom is no exception. It plays so much better in band situation than for example Mesa OS, Orange PPC, Marshall etc... so I was very curious about Bogner, so called king of rearloaded cabs :)

For comparison I used Soldano Hot Rod 50, crappy iphone mic placed between cabs and crappy hands so don't expect any high quality sound but I think it is enough for hear differences. Guitar is Schecter Tempest with Rebel Yell set. Secret souce is boosting with Klon KTR. I don't think anybody used this combination ever :) Bogner is 16ohm, VHT is 8ohm and I switched outputs to correct ohms but VHT seems to be fairly louder to Bogner.

First bogner then VHT...?

I think I like the first one...

Wow. Pretty big difference. Both sound good. I think I favor the second one slightly more maybe? I gotta listen to them again.

I like the first one better. Which is which?

Has a nice bite but not harsh.
Yes to the first demo'd cab

You right guys, first is Bogner, second VHT. I think those are very different despite ‘the same’ speakers. Front/rear load, impedance, batting, all matters for final tone.
I add one more video with almost same setup but cab is Benton 2x12 V30, guitar in drop D and volume was around 2. Big cabs have around 4 on rehearsal space.

I liked that Benton 2x12 the best by far...that's how that amp should sound. Clean and punch. Loved that clip. Makes me want a soldano even though i have no use for a loud amp.

I've owned bogner and VHT fat bottom 2x12s as well as multiple 4x12's. Front loaded cabs just have that fast attack, but feel more stiff and congested. some rear loaded cabs can sound a bit distant yet more 3D. up to the amp going through it or what you prefer in feel.

TBH that 2x12 sounds sick. I would take them all but prefer the 2x12.

Benton cab is really great. This is older frontloaded version with sealed back. All ply, 16mm this (Soldano himself made cabs from 16mm ply I think). Best part is 200€ price tag fitted with Vintage 30. I have one with Scumback J75 for my hard rock band.
I find out FL cabs fits better with quick attack amps like Fryette, Engl, Soldano and RL cabs for more warmer and bouncy Marshalls, Bogner, Recto. Of course depends on type of music.
I am also very surprised how Klon KTR works for higain boost. It gives You bogner-ish feel under fingers and still retains Soldano bite and cut.
