Has anyone tried one of these amps? Someone just offered me ono in a trade and I've never even seen one in person...lol.

I had one and didn't like it. I was hoping for a three channel SLO, but was highly disappointed. IMHO it was very loose and muddy.

Roommate had one, I played through it a couple times at his band's practice space. We did some A/Bing with a Soldano Avenger I had at the time and I thought the Avenger's rock / metal tones were far better. I just wasn't blown away by the Decatone.

I owned one too. The second channel (crunch) was the best, and why I bought it. KT-66's really help this amp out. Overall, I don't think it is worth the money. I listed to some live clips recently of me with that amp, and it did sound good, but I sold it and never looked back.

Get one and simply bypass the loop. Its different to the SLO's loop - but sucks in the same way :D

I had one and liked it pretty well. It had the SLO Transformers in it but still did not quite have the sparkle of SLO. still pretty good, but again, it had upgraded iron.

Pretty much my impression. Though while I think the crunch channel may get the nod over the crunch mode on the SLO's clean channel, overall it really paled compared to the SLO IMO.
