I have an SLO, and due to neighbors and hearing, I usually do not run the Master higher than 3. I am considering adding the depth mod, and had a couple questions.

Does this add more Bass? Or does this add more lower mids?

I had the Depth Mod added to my SLO a few years back.
At the time I has using a Marshall 1936 2x12.

It's kind of weird how the Depth Mod works
It adds low end kind of, just i don't feel it yeilds a very usable low end.

I guess what i, trying to say is you dont so much feel extra low end thump.
Just more low frequency

Since getting two Soldano 2x12 cabinets, I have all the low end I need.

It DOES add more low end (not low mids) like the resonance knob on a 5150

I didn't use the depth at all initially. Lately I've been experimenting with decreasing the bass and bringing the depth up a bit to compensate. It's subtle, but I'm perceiving it as having a more 'forward' tone and giving the attack a quicker feel. ymmv

I don't have one on mine, but then again I don't feel like I've ever needed it -- I have ported cabinets (Port City OS 2x12), which I really think make a difference in the quality of low end I get.

I think the depth/resonance controls adjust the frequency range of the low eq, much like the presence knob adjust the frequency range of the high end. Best way to get an idea of it, put depth on 0 then start hitting palm mutes with a healthy amount of gain, then turn the depth all the way up and palm mute again. Makes the speakers 'resonate' a lot more. Definitely useful for lower volume applications, as the depth control doesn't to as much the more you turn it up.

It's good for playing at lower volumes. Although I like running it up higher and the bass control down low.

It adds a low frequency that a guitar does not need IMO. I've had five or six SLOs' and never used the Depth control.
