WATCH IN HD!!

I know "wow, he made this amps sound like a rectifier/5150/beehive/insertrandommeme"....

Yes, my goal was to show the Soldano in a modern scooped high gain setting, I did NOT want to show that it does hairmetal and Stil Got The Blues nicely...others have done that.

this is a very versatile amp indeed

Killer, my Avenger would do that. In fact I'm looking for another one.

My Avenger would only do that with a boost. Too bad it recently shit the bed. Tubes, OT and some caps....fucked. I wonder if it only sounded so badass because it was on the brink of a meltdown....

Wow.....that has got to be the most AGGRESSIVE SLO CLIP I have ever heard!
Surprised me since as you put....everyone always does the lighter metal/rock clips.
Was the amp boosted?

this is actually an HR100+ with depth mod.
there was an od820 in front....but I always do that for modern metal

Yes indeedy this is some killer metal tone. Whats surprsising it that I think the original tune is a 5150 blended with an Engl and you actually nailed it!!!

So how 'far off' is the lead tone of the HR100 vs SLO lead?
Same ballpark? Or is the Avenger closer to the Slo?

Never heard a Soldano in person and this has been bugging me for years.

thanks.
the original is actually Mesa Racktifier into t75 loaded marshall.
no Engl ever made it onto a Nevermore record actually (well at least not for rhythms)

Not familiar enough with Nevermore songs to actually name which one that is..embarrassing because I think it's one I really like... but your clip sounds fantastic, maybe even a little more tighter/aggressive than I remember it sounding off the CD.

So, you want to sell it?

Guitar Wolrd did an article with Loomis after OC album came out. Somewhere in there Jeff stated that the tone was a combination of 5150 and an ENGL SE. Maybe I can find it online.

Mailman I've owned an HR50+XL 2x12 combo and an SLO. It's been years but the tone was fairly close. Soldanos have a sound thats inherent in all there amps it seems. I thinjk the SLO had more umph and punch but nothing night and day.

He said that about the OC ( this song is from DHIADW), and they indeed tracked the guits with 5150 and engl, the engl tracks have been replaced with 5150III during the mixing process though.
But he can't say that of course (endorsement deals etc).
There's actually engl gear being used on his solo cd which is being recorded atm...it's an engl cab which is being used as a stand for a tv, lol.

DHIADW: racktifier
Enemies: triple recto
Godless endeavor: recto+ krank
OC: 5150+5150III

Wow!! Funny I really didn't care for the 5153 I had. I much prefer the Peavey stuff. Maybe mine had bad tubes or wasn't biased up right???
