So, is the tube buffered loop in the Hot Rod 50 Avenger a good one? I'm looking at one that I'm close to pulling the trigger on, but my past experience owning a regular Hot Rod 50, the loop was a deal-breaker. I gots ta have a good loop! I don't want to fork out 2k and be disappointed. No, I'm not going to mod it, no I'm not buying a PS-2 for it's loop either, so skip those suggestions and focus on what you may know about the stock Hot Rod Avenger..

No experience on the Avenger but I'd assume it's the same loop. The loop in original SLO and HR were buffered too. The issue lies in the position of the loop.

I used the avenger with no loop on this . Avenger gets brutal

I had 2 avengers. 50 and 100 watts. Great amp. But you boost it and it gets really loud. Serial loop is needed imo to plug a zuul. Turning the amp up to volume and rolling guitar all the way down, you have 107 dbs of noise...terrible. putting gate before the amp makes it manageable, but so many easier options

Yeah, I passed on it. I came across a mint 50 watt Hot Rod Avenger for $1900, and really wanted it.. Tube buffered loop, but I didn't want a $1900 experiment...

I went ahead with an SLO30. Should be here by week's end.

Soldano is always a good choice

One of the Best Amps i've ever owned. Mine is the 100watt version.

Yep, it's super loud. I use a Decimator Pro Rack G in front & in the loop. I also use the Little black box when playing at home.
