Soldano is a real small operation and Mike Soldano is a great guy and father of the modern high-gain amp (IMO). Enjoy....

Sounds great!

An SLO is on my list of amps I'd love to own. Played a Hot Rod 100 and I loved that as well.

Love it, love the small form factor and it sounds great but WTF is the price all about - £1850 in the UK - for that I can get every version of the Tiny terror (tiny, dark, #4, dual & micro) or I could get both the mini boogie's (TA15 & Recto) :)

I know, price is a wee bit steap. But I'm sure it will appeal to a certain number of players looking for quality & tone and not necessarily a "bargain" or cheap price.

The Soldano overdrive tone is always incredible .Mike builds great amps

i wish it had a depth knob.

I love mine on my SLO.

I mostly use it for lower volume playing and turn it basically off when I play loud.

That thing sounds great! I played a Hot Rod 50 once and it sounded nothing like this or any SLO I've heard.

price sucks and needs a depth knob...other then that great..

Mike Soldano the father or modern high gain?

Nah. Think I'm going to have to go with Randall Smith on that one.

Any others?

By the way, the amp sounds great.

Don't know that I could use that tone for much, but it's cool.

They purposely didn't add the Depth on this one because it messed up the tone being such a low wattage amp.

Randall Smith copied Mike's overdrive "cascading gain" circuit.....

I guess my point is, I don't even think of Soldano when I think of Modern tone. Sorry.

The SLO is one of the best rock tones ever, just not modern.

Mike Soldano has the Mesa Mark II to thank for his SLO creation so put that in your pipe and smoke it.

You might have that backwards. The Slo was influenced by the mark series boogies.

I agree, to me the Soldano is kind of the missing link in a way

It is beyond what you think of as Classic Hi Gain hot Marshall ,but does not venture into the modern territory like the Recto, Deizel

Mehh Its Ok but that price?? Did they find a hidden stash of cocaine from the 80's hidden in a back room or something?? :loco:

The recto was copying (not sure how close) Mike's SLO design, from what I understand. I guess everybody borrowed from everybody

Sounds great. Soldano's are some fine amps. Played through an SLO a long time ago and heard many people play through Jerry's (Jerome Allen's) SLO back in Nov. The SLO is a bad ass amp.
