Many people who have owned both prefer the Soldano 50watt Avenger to the real deal. They can be had cheap used, but aren't very versatile...

Have you owned a EVH 5150 III or a Peavey 6505? They're both great amps that sound good quiet.

One thing about the SLO though, is that I'm pretty sure you have to use line level effects in the loop. Pedals are a no no iirc. I'm not 100% sure on this, but it's how my brain is currently telling me to remember it.

I have a module that nails a Peavey 5150 and had an EVH 5153 100 watt. I loved channel 3 and hated the rest of the amp.
