Thanks so much to everyone who commented in my other thread about these amps.
Turns out, 99% of what was said was right - it's really personal preference.
Both amps are amazing, however for sheer crushing volume I would give the slight edge to the SLO. But in a band mix that might not be ideal.

Check it out -

The SLO sounds meatier and more together. Boogie sounds good but more spitier (is that a word) than the more clarity I hear in the SLO

Both sound massive and crushing to me. I vote for the SLO as slightly better, but I'm biased. I have an SLO and love it.

Nice job! They are both great amps, and cool enough to justify owning both.

Thanks for showing us all how much more the Mark IV kicks the SLO's ass.

In this clip I actually liked the Mesa over the SLO.
But then again I have never played a SLO in person. But have owned a Mark IV and they do kick ass.

In the room, the SLO wipes the floor with the Mark IV I'm quite sure. At volume. Clips don't do amps justice. Its like the 6505/SLO comparison. Sounds the same! Yeah not. I've played a Mark IV, and owned 2 Mark 3s. I'd take the 3s over the 4, and I'd take my C+ over all of them. By far. The SLO ranks right up there with my C+ though. Different but killer.

I liked whichever amp I was listening to. Very different but both really good.

The MKIV sounded a littler muddy but you did have the left slider almost all the way up. Given the tweakability of the MKIV I'd say you could probably get them pretty close to each other.

Slo sounds thin and nasally, IV wins.

That's what I was thinking , nasally . I preferred the Mesa also.

Mark 4 for sure. SLO sounds compressed and thin in comparison. The mark 4 is a wall of sound. BTW, the correct description is "nasal", not "nasally" as everyone says in guitar forums.

The MK IV is a wall of smooth sound with bite (the way it is set) The Mesa is WAYYYY more versatile than the SLO. I'd own the Mesa

I don't know about kicking it's ass, BUT, imo, the Mesa sounds more open and clearer than the slo.

I was surprised to hear that. The slo sounds mushy next to that mark IV

Thanks for the demo in my opinion I like the mesa better. The soldano sounded good but the mesa had more meat to it.
