Soldano users -anyone use an eq to boost mids?

Perhaps yours is a Mesa SLO, because the Soldano SLO is upper middy af.
Yeah, the BAD SLO100 and SLO30 I had were upper mid grind city, not low mid dominant at all. But I did play with a 10 band graphic eq in the loop and was using a Duncan 805 with the mids boosted a bit off that OD. Crazy upper mids with that setup.

Is the SLO in the audio at all? I'm having a hard time telling. All the guitar seems to be on the right, and there are times it looks like you're playing and I don't hear anything matching.

Edit: found it, in the part you timestamped. Just sits super low relatively.
Yeah, it's just an iPhone in the room. The 30 had a hard time keeping up with the Marshall, which seems to be common. I've only had one Mesa that can hold its own against a Marshall in a 2 guitar band, my IIB KRG.

the marshall is brighter but I think if you turned your cab a little more head on like the marshall's it would poke through a bit more relative to the camera. nice job though, I love hearing how amps sound raw with a band.

I'd be interested in what winds up working, my amp is dark too. I've only played the slo30 but it seemed dark. We lowered the bass and turned it up then stepped back a bit at GC and there's a pretty big difference based on your listening position. Maybe it was the room but it was much better further away.

You ought to be able to dial it in. I replaced all my cables with some wbc GACs and my presence control actually works now
Thanks man. I've played tons of high gain amps in my bands and when the rubber hits the road, it's always very different than what we hear at home.

I had a SLO100 a few years ago that was a real ball breaker but still, I think a Marshall would have cut much clearer. The 30 has similar tone but NOWHERE near the push. IMO they're both smooth like a IIC+, which is not your friend in a live mix.

Also If you have any Psvane EC83 12AX7's around? putting a couple in V1 and V2 will completely change the character of the amp and bring out more crunch and upper mid clarity. I have become a fan of using a couple of these preamp tubes in a bunch of my amps like my Bogner Ecstasy 101b and the Peavey 5150 as well. Cheap option to consider

I thought PSvane was sorta no-go brand? Pissvane for someone?

Yeah the SLO is scooped sounding next to a proper JCM800. Which is probably why they are a good match with V30s. An eq should work, or a klon type pedal

I thought it did a pretty good job though. I think if you consider you gotta fight to get a good recording on the phone + the room reflections + no pa its not bad? Maybe I knew what to listen for.

I think the register you gotta cover for the rhythm is hard to dial with 2 guitars, and in this case being louder / brighter could only help a little before the sound washed because of the room + guitar fx. You could experiment with the signal blend on the phaser / flangers and maybe some harmonies in the rhythm instead of doubling up if you feel its getting lost.

Gonna be good live (y)
