Nice unit, Had one when It first came out and used for recordings, clean crisp and mean tones, love the IR's too.

I have this unit myself, and I had found it sounds great through EL34 amps and power amps.

I had an opportunity to purchase Jeremy's personal Ground Zero modded SLO 100 amp (it was a great sounding amp) but I had passed on the purchase.

I felt the X88-IR sounded better going through an EL34 power amp (the SLO 100 was all 6L6's).

This really is a pretty good price for the preamp!
