Solderless cables?

Looks like I may have to use some of these on my pedal board to conserve space. Anyone have any experience with these?
Any good alternatives to George L's?

I don't know of others but I do use George L's on my pedal board and instrument cable. Its good stuff and easy to terminate the ends. And if you have one go intermittent or wonky you just cut off the end and re-terminate on the spot, I haven't had to do that yet but I like that aspect..

I remember when I first did the board, was originally using a mix of cables...was a helluva lot quieter ;)

Me too. I had the Lava one's and they didn't last. I won't go away from soldered ends again.

My only solderless experience was with George L's, and it wasn't good. The cables sounded great (clearer highs)...when they worked. I know a bunch of guys here rave about making their own cables with Mogami cable and Neutrik ends. Someday maybe, but until then Planet Waves are good enough for me! Cheers

I won't use these again also...had MANY problems with them not working at gigs...after 2 shows like that I went back to regular cables.

I recently got the planet waves kit, and it took me like 15 minutes to put together 5 cables at the perfect lengths for what I needed. I usually use regular PW stuff for cables, but these won't be getting a ton of use, and it was the cheapest way to accomplish what I wanted, so I went with it. No issues so far.

A friend of mine went this same route about 10 years ago, and his cables still work.

This.

I will never go back to solderless patch cables ever again.

Same here nothing but problems with cables randomly cutting out all the time.

If you're going that route Evidence Audio sas seems to be the best.

I use the Planet Waves for my pedal have had zero issues.

Maybe I just got lucky but I have been using the Planet Waves solder less stuff for years without any troubles. Tons of gigs and being dragged back and forth from rehearsal spots and not a glitch. Only thing is the ends are a bit big and heavy, but are nice and solid. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Now hopefully I didnt just jinx myself..! ;)

I use Evidence Audio Monorail and SIS jacks. These work really well and I not had any failures or faulty initial builds. This compare to my experience with Lava where it was tough to get the initial build correct from the off.

buy some bulk cable and switchcraft jacks. solderless is junk. learn how to solder and you will never have a problem.

i get my stuff from here: http://btpa.com/

the best ones are Bill L's

you can pull an elephant with them and they will hold up.

I also got 50 feet of cable and 10 plugs for 75 dollars if i recall correctly.
also .022 PF µf.
Which is better than anything i have tried out there and believe me , i have spent much money on shitty cables.

I've had good luck with the lava's with the soldered ends, very low profile, you just solder on a tip onto the center conductor....

I've used George L's solderless with zero issues. I've also soldered a bunch myself. Whatever works and is on hand.

Been doing this for years. I need to conserve space on my pedalboard, and no soldered ends i've found take up as little space as some of the solderless angled ends.
