I hadn’t owned a strat or tele in a few decades, LoL. I had never even liked fender amps until I bought a 64 Vibroverb to R&D with. Then I finally bought a strat and can see why people like them. It’s all about the right amp. Same with pedals and that amp loves all of them. Anyway I wound a set for my HSS strat and they were a little too sparkly and not enough lowend. Next set, I over compensated they were too full. They sounded fantastically good but not straty enough if that makes sense. This time around, actually just this week, I watched as many videos I could find of Abigale of Josefina of Fender CS winding in slow mostion with a stop watch and playing them at 1/4 speed. This last set is plenty sparkly and plenty full. I’d be happy to wind a bridge for you to try if you want to give me an idea with the specs and what pickups they’d be paired with. It seems that unlike humbuckers, different venders use different polarities and wind directions.
I totally get what you mean.
That was why I went a bit too far with my
tone needs loaded with juicy words.
Tone is not subjective, that’s the reality.
If you talk about it, then it’s objective.
I could smoke SRV if I was on a good night
and he was having a shit night (Camel nose era,
completely missing strumming the guitar when it’s behind his back, etc )
It’s in the way I touch any instrument, posture,
habits and if what I can actually play what I want to be influenced by, *honesty* which saves embarrassment UNLESS my boys are rubbing my back on gear forums or bar fly broads vicariously
believing I’m somebody famous for the raunchy evening.., tone’s got nothin’ to do with that!!!
Coyote Arm.. ARGH!!!ROOTS BLOODY ROOTS!
