I know some of you grabbed Carvins and the like to save weight. This would be a noice portable rig IMO. Did this stick for you? Many people staying with it or did you find you had to have some tubes and go VHT, Mesa etc?
I used a RT2/50 with a quad of E34Ls into 2 cabs and really liked that over my Art SLA2 amp. I sold both of them and now I have been using my return loop of the 20th Xtc and Mesa MK III. My next step is the Atomic active wedges.
He has a Carvin F1200. It's an older Mosfet amp. I have and older Carvin Mosfet FET1000. I think it's easier to get a more natural sound from the mosfet amp than it was with the newer DCM1540L, but a little EQ tweaking and you can get the same results.
honestly i dont think it matters.. i've done frfr with a crown 402, cabs with mesa 2:90, cabs with what i have now is an ada b200s, and it's all the same. Just how you dial it in.. i can get the same sound from all of them.

Wow I had a Carvin FET 1000w, actually had 2 of them. That thing was heavy. Bought them new in the early '90s and used it with my ADA MP-1 and Carvin Quad X. I blew my V30s out with it lol just got rid of it a few years ago. I remember all the combinations you could do to set it up with the Mini switches, like 7 per side. Never gave me a problem.
