Wrapped up the mix on this last night, no clue if RT will dig it or not, but it’s not metalcore, so there’s that.

I wrote it about 10 years ago and it was one of the first songs I recorded when I started teaching myself how to record but I never got it sounding how I wanted it. Normally I ditch songs that have been around that long, but I was pretty stoked with how the vocals came out in the chorus as I get into some Cornell/Dio territory (especially on the last one). I don’t shy away from wearing my influences on my sleeve, especially with vocals, so if you dig Lamb Of God, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, you’ll notice some familiar ground.

Used both the Edwards and Orville LP’s for the rhythms, it’s quad tracked and I think I just used the IIC++ model in the AxeFX for it all. Lead starts with the Edwards into a MarkIV model but switches to my JEM using an Amplitube IV model, it’s the only part of the recording I kept from a previous version.

For the non-Soundcloud-smashed version- https://www.dropbox.com/s/rcr7b15ao7kzr62/Show Your Fast Master 1.wav?dl=0

Sweet! Sounds awesome.

Def get the Randy Blythe vocal vibe, and I mean that as a compliment!

Thanks for listening!

I spent so many years trying to scream like that dude that by the time I finally figured it out, I didn’t want to sound like him anymore all but that’s what comes out. The technique itself has a ton to do with it and for that, I’m surprised there aren’t a sh*tload of Randy clones out there already.

Yup, in the verses i heard that as well. I also hear the AIC influence in some of the guitar playing. I think the chorus' could use some more work, i'm hearing some vocals that are just not working well with the riff.

Hahahah yeah, everyone has an opinion on what works and what doesn’t and are more than happy to suggest how they feel it should be, my best advice for that is “If you feel strongly about it, I‘d suggest writing a song that includes what you’re looking for” And not because I’m ungrateful for the listen/advice/critique, but if I listened to all of it, I’d never be able to finish a song. That and the things that *I* dig about music aren’t the same things everyone else does, I’m stoked if someone digs what I do, but the only one I’m attempting to please with it is myself.

And yeah, if you hear some of my other stuff, I rip off AIC a LOT. Usually the vocals more than the guitars, but they’re my favorite band of all time, so it’s no surprise to me!
