Should have kept the Friedman BE100. These Camorons sound like a Mesa. No Marshall in that sound at all.

And that is bad why? I prefer this over the BE100 any day!!

John Sykes pulled some monster tone out of a Mesa.Just saying. I would be happy with that tone any day.

Personally, Owning anything with the Rat's name on it is a no no. Glorified Mesa people claim is modded Marshall tones. Spare me

Sounds pretty good to my ears! Who cares if it doesn't sound spot on Marshall or if it sounds a bit like a Mesa... the point is, it sounds good plain and simple.

Maybe the "unharmonic" observation comes from the fact that SM57's will impart a scoopiness or flavour on the tone that is not to everyone's liking depending on how they are placed. Was it recorded with a 57 just of axis?

I thought Sykes used Mesa Mk III and modded Marshalls for his classic recorded tones of the late 80s.
Mesa Mk IIC+ was the staple of Metallica in the old days, ie, "AND JUST FOR ALL" era.

...if I recall correctly. Of course I reserve the right to be admonished by the YT clip in my signature below.

Thank you.

Doesn't sound good ...

Don't like ...

Doesn't live up to the hype ...

Shitty ...

Do not want ...

My DSL smokes it ...

I can go on. [you asked]

I find none of these to apply to the clips I heard, but continue if you like. I've never heard a DSL that impressed me in any way, but to each their own.

Have you guys played Cameron Jose mods? The CCV sounds just like a Jose mod crossed with the lower mids of a Bogner. Nothing like a Mesa at all. Not even close.

I respectfully disagree. I currently have a CCV and have owned a IIC+. The sound very close to me.

Having owned a CCV and another similar Marshall-esque, modified amp, as well as a few Bogners, my opinion was that the CCV is firmly planted in the realm of Bogner's low-mid voicing. That's no surprise to me, though, considering Mark worked at Bogner for a bit, no? Seems like that influenced his work a bit...

But when I first tried out the CCV I was surprised at how Bogner-like it sounded. This was a "first run production" version.

Wow man it sound really killer, great tone!!! Where I can find a complete review of CCV?

Thanks man

I can record a full review, it's just hard to capture all the tones because it's so tweakable.

let me know what you want to hear and see

Alex I just wanted to know where I can find all info about this amp, like how many channels it has, the tubes that it use, all that push/pull options, etc.

I'll love to hear a lead channel if it has!!

For my ears that amp really rock

Just download the manual

Great clips as always Alex! I have come to the conclusion that I need a CCV.

That CCV nails 80's guitar tone!

  the solos were done on a Fender Champ or Bullet from what Beau Hill quoted years ago. Pretty sure ;) But ya, the CCV can do it easily.

Sounds great Alex!

I picked up a BE-100 about a month ago and at times wish it was a little lore aggressive like the CCV. Too bad their out of production, but I guess that makes resale all the better for guys like you.

Yup, SM57 probably close to center but I would have to check.

The CCV has it's on personality to your point.

The "unharmonic" observation doesn't come from Sm57. It comes from Dan, who will always be pissing on anything that comes from Cameron and not from his guru/genius D. Friedman.

It's really has a kick ass sound IMHO.

I've also downloaded the owner manual!!

I've a Marshall Cameron Jose h/l gain mod and doesn't sound like this, at least to me.

Workhorse of the music industry for the last 14 years.

No need to spend 4K on frankensteins monster for tone.

It has a Solo boost option with a separate Master Volume which is footswitchable. However, the Solo Boost also has a 3-way switch which is cumulative so it will push your highest gain setting even further.
Actually that isn't true. The Solo Master just replaces the normal channel master and the three way switch on the regular master is not active when the solo master is active. Only the solo master 3 way switch is active then. What I'm saying is if you set the regular channel master and the solo master to the same three way setting and set each to the same volume setting, they will sound exactly the same if you switch back and forth. There is no "cumulative" effect...
