Start it at 5:22 and just listen to the man, beautiful phrasing and the tone is happening. Such command and control.

Thanks to Ant for hooking me up with this one

thanks for sharing what Anthony shared with you, no one was supposed to know about that video.

Who's goig to watch that video?? You??? You LT whineberg??????

I love Yngwie, one of my very first idols. Having said that, I much prefer the Yngwie of Alcatraz era to the Yngwie now. He used to slow down then, so when he played fast it was fast. This video is still pretty cool, but I miss the mid tempo runs that he used to do.

Dude's toggle flipping is insane!

I noticed that!

Agreed that there are lots of rehashed licks throughout this but that last bit I pointed out is the shit.

His sweeps are so clean. I just don't see how I could ever sweep that cleanly. He's doing alot of 5 string sweeps too where it seems like most people do more 3 string sweeps.

He never got the recognition he deserved. He is a Master of the instrument.

Yngwie is synonomous with Shredding
Also recognized are the repetitious runs and songwriting deficits.....which to me makes his Cult following/recognition level appropriate

that guy is nuts man! speed and feel all at the same time, jesus.

I agree, if you listen to this video, you can hear so many licks that he has used over and over and over again, nothing new melodically. However, I still love the guy more than George Lynch nowadays with his fingerless gloves and non-stop gear whoring with not enough gain and using old telecasters to play old school 80's metal with a phaser on all the time and smoking a cigarette with ashes flying all over with a sprayed on tan dressed like a skateboard dude. Yngwie stayed rather true to himself, except he did get a bit heavier in both his music and appearance.

Stop and breathe damn you!

great!! his vibrato is fantastic too.
No doubt...his vibrato and bending get overshadowed by the shred stuff but they're awesome...perfect intonation.

Isn't it about time he lost the 1970's Burt Reynolds sunglasses.

But I'm still trying to see what's the big deal about this video.. Sounds like any other Yngwie video. I thought the best phrasing he ever did was on Leviathan off of Fire And Ice.

Yup. Amazing shit, but the same shit since day one. I always enjoy it though... Can't sit through a whole show though because of the high level of repetition because every song has so much soloing...

I always thought he sounded great in this vid.

Actually my favourite Yngwie disc....he reached the pinnacle of his ultimate Ritchie Blackmore heavy but melodic pop metal on it...including JLT, what's not to love?

I thought the lineup w/ Joe Lynn Turner was the best. I thought his best playing, and tone, was in Alcatrazz, the live stuff is devestating.
This vid is pretty repetitious. He's become a parody of himself. The shades, the leather, the long dead 80's neo classical BS genre he stays in. cause it's all he knows.

A guy like Shawn Lane or Eric Gales were and are far more interesting to listen to.
