lol at the above... along the lines of what PaulyC said, when people start saying legend this and that and age plays a factor give the guy a break I say bullshit. Warren Demartini still smokes, Nuno still smokes, Gilbert still smokes.... age does not factor into it. Experimentation gone wrong and timing definitely do. He's noodling with shapes that are not in key and his timing sucks. Could he still play with fury? Probably, I think he is just not very good at improv and does much better when he structures his solos. All we are asking is that George brings a lil more structure to his playing..

+1 BIG TIME ! You said it better than I could I guess. Thank you. Lynch CAN BE an unreal player...but I think he needs to act like he cares about quality product again. Mr, Scary is the best "shred" guitar piece to me to this day. I STILL want to hear "Autopsy" that he's recorded 7 times...why wasn't that on the CD of weird covers and b-sides and stuff that came out a few years ago ? I'm DYING to hear it ! I LOVE the solo he did on "From The Begining" on Dysfunctional...when it switches from the neck to the bridge pick up...oh man...stinging tone ! I don't hate the guy...he just needs to clean up his act a little bit.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the video or George and nobody here could do the exact same thing.

You dudes should watch more of American Idol or the Voice, then you could call in and vote. :D

Jackoff vibrato FTW.

Hey...it's just my opinion..I think he's sucking...you might think he's awesome...more power to you man. Whatever. I remember the glory days, and to me it's sad that it seems like he'll never touch that again.
The glory days died in 1991.

George is a musician, artist, composer, a businessman amoung other things and one of the coolest things to happen to rock music ever. Carving out a unique and original style in the world of music for over 40 years.

Don't know if you notice but the dudes got more sig gear that any man alive and doesn't have a problem getting a gig.

What more do you want from a guitar guy, my $.02

Amen! A legend and a fabulous player! Gave us a ton of great music and is still playing today! Always love for the Lynch!

George in 87' backstage warmup.

And in 89'.

He's doing much the same stuff now as then IMO just a different feel & tempo.
As for the Dokken stuff he's been there and done that. He's obviously going for something progressive.

It's hard to outdo yourself when you've done it all.

I can see both sides of the argument here. There were some cool moments where he caught the wave and rode it, and there were some moments where he completely missed and showed bad timing and awkward phrasing. Tone was cool. I don't give a shit what here wears.

Although I was down on George's playing for quite some time (I walked out of a late '05 show near Denver), I think he's been gettin it together again more recently. He kicked ass at M3 last year (sounded much better in front of him than it does on the recording), and his first release with T&N was awesome IMO and captures a bit of what made Lynch my favorite post-Rhoads player back in the day, but doing it with a more modern sound. Love the solo.

George was texting me from France today. just shootin the shit

Thats awesome. Never mind I've called your shop 3 times and left 2 messages with my number concerning my 2nd run CCV deposit asking for a call back this week. I suppose being a paying CUSTOMER isnt good enough these days. My deposit wasnt a donation if you were wondering.
Lawyer. Get your money back.

i liked the playing, much his style as always, just a bit slower.....really liked the tone

George is George. It's amazing how some of you seem irritated that he doesn't play exactly as he did in 87? It's 2013, he is still out there doing it. To say that age has nothing to do with your dexterity or ability is just silly. People grow older differently.

His dexterity isn't the problem I have...he's flat out of key half the time. I love George's tone and his playing back in the day, but IMHO this is awful.
