Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Amazingly kind comments!
Kapo P - the Friedman is more balanced. The SLO is more toothy and bitey. Honestly, when I think about it, it's hard to pinpoint where the Friedman gets its signature sound from because every little area is on hand in more or less ideal, equal amounts, low end, low mids, upper mids, high end bite, etc, yet it of course has its voice somehow that all Friedmans have. Anyway, the SLO has more teeth and hair for sure, and those mids that have so much character, I've never heard that SLO distinctive mid thing in any other amp. It's never gonna be mistaken for a diverse amp, capable of many different tones, but I didn't buy it for that lol. Now the SmallBox, damn, it has greater touch sensitivity and with a pedal or two, yeah, you can cover waaaaay more ground....and sound amazing at every stop. Of the two, well, if I were held at gunpoint to survive with only one - I'd lean towards the Friedman. Lemme put it this way, if the BE-100 is pretty much the SB with a hard on (never played a BE), I'd sell these both and just have that! Then again, those clips from yngzacklynch with his SAT switch modded SB could be the alternative on that desert island.
