I was going to have it string-thru since to me that is the perfect setup. The string tension feels right, intonation is easier to adjust, changing strings is a breeze, and you can use a heavier right hand to play more aggressively and the guitar will take it. My guy at ESP that I call "007" suggested the Hannes and I trust him so we added it on to the MII. We'll see how it goes when it arrives and I put that fiddle through hell week.
Alder, maple, ebony and an Evolution neck pup....Beeeeee-rrrright!
My Charvel So-Cal had that, minus the neck-through and ebony...was a lot happier with an Air Norton in the neck, but the Evo did give awesome seperation and definition. No room for error with that pup.
I love the idea. I know Lynch did that on a few of his guitars. My initial reaction is that it's coming out at an odd angle, but it's probably not very different (angle) than a regular edge mounted jack.
