Something is making my webcam audio all garbly and crappy

I broke out my old webcam just to do some short videos of jamming on for friends to see and on playback, the sound is absolute garbage. When I had this hooked up to my old Mac the audio came through fine, and I could have the monitors and practice amp blasting. Now, I'm playing at a much lower bedroom volume and upon playback, it starts off playing at a normal level, but just turns to half clipped, half garbly garbage after that. What the hell is my webcam doing that it just clips the shit out of the audio? The level monitor on the webcam software isn't in the red at all, it just sounds crappy.

You wanna use a cell phone instead of a webcam.

All the best guitar playing clips are done that way.

I did the same but turns out my webcam's fine it's my playing that sounded like absolute garbage .

If its a pc my guess would be windows updates have rendered it obsolete.

There’s probably a driver for it but it’s no longer supported, therefore it works only because it’s likely using a default driver of some type not originally intended. Try going to the vendors site to grab one manually or get a new camera.
