id say dyers eve....ive never anyone play that fast with that much gain and still hear every note so clear(im speaking of the fast part of intro)....what do u think

KILL 'EM ALL.ended there really.

RTL has great lead tones.

i guess MOP is good tone wise.not all of it tho.

IMO.

For Whom the Bell Tolls

Disposable Heroes

Hard to pick.

Kill Em' All and then a pretty distant RTL. Kill Em' All is just so raw, angry, and urgent.......I love it. I also really like the tones on Load, but in a more modern sense. I'm not a fan of the MOP tones and especially not AJFA.

the song Ride the lightning , shit rules. JOSE MARSHALL

RTL, MOP, AJFA, and we can't forget about the black album. No matter your opinion on the songs on that album, the tone is amazing!

I always like his tones on the tune from Mission Impossible 2. I forget the name of the song though.

I disappear.

jaymz's tone on sandman is just so mid-gnarly and growlish...loved that tone from the first time i heard it. very natural and easy on the ear, but really heavy. at least, for me. honorable mention would be eye of beholder...very similiar deep, gnarly growl. sounds like a revved engine at 5k rpm........love it.

some of the earlier tones from RTL and MOP sound kinda processed to me...but, i have a weird ear.

Sad But True is just crushing and set a high mark for heavy guitar tones IMO. That whole album sounds amazing, even though it was the beginning of the end.

Ride is their best "classic" metal tone IMO. MOP and AJFA are my two favorite musically...I think.

"Suicide and Redemption" on Death Magnetic has some cool modern guitar tones. It's one of the only songs on the album I can listen to, since it's instrumental.

I like it more than all the others, but I still can't listen to it because of the bass. It's like they really make it overly pronounced in the mix IMO

I like all the guitar tones- even St Anger!
However, the pop songwriting from the 90s is dreadful- I hate all those Unforgivens

Killing time and Blackened. A few songs off the black album, guitar production was insane, songs werent the best but the guitar tones were thick and heavy.

Black Album in general has my favorite Metallica guitar tones.

I also like Ride the Lightning and ...And Justice for All.

Kill Em All sounds too raw I like the songs but not the tone...

St. Anger is horrible in every aspect from drums to guitar

Death Magnetic is better but it is still crappy album from the songwriting point of view, at least for me...
