Songwriters Battle: Bob Dylan Vs....

guys I need your input. I have a radio show every week and I play all sorts of music, this week I wanna do a songwriters battle..... I wanna play Bob Dylan Vs......... who you think I should play ?

plus I want 6 songs of each that are really important, which ones you'd choose?

McCartney

Obvious choices...

How about the most covered songwriters?

how about Dylan Vs Neil Diamond...

or Dylan Vs Johnny Cash ?
 
Dylan versus Neil Young. I like Neil more myself.
 
cant go wrong with Elton John/Bernie Taupin, those guys were friggin magical...

Personally, I think Lennon/McCartney is where it begins and ends, NOBODY even comes close IMHO...
 
Steve Earle comes to mind. I find him to be an incredible writer. What a storyteller.
 
How about an "unknown" songwriter.

Someone who was written a fair few big songs, but no one knows who the man/woman is?
 
Brian Wilson- Your Imagination, Lay Down Burdon, Wouldn't It be Nice, God Only Knows, I can hear Music,

Neil Young- Ohio, Sugar Mountain, Heart of Gold,

Eminem- Stan, The Real Slim Shady, the way i am

Mark Hudson? Didn't he write a bunch of big songs for bands/solo artists?

Chris Cornell. Ever hear Euphoria Morning? Amazing songs.
 
Dylan, Lennon, Springsteen , Favorite Dylan songs are don't think twice and positively fourth street. Springsteen favorites are Philadelphia and Johnny 99
 
I can't believe this name hasn't been mentioned, Willie Nelson.
 
Something more interesting would be : older poppy John Mayer or the neuterized SRV wanna be blues rocker John Mayer ?
