mos valve power amp - it seems like it says tube something... tubeworks? is it SS tube modeling (IE transtube technology from peavey for example) or all tube?

and what piece of gear is he using below his racked crybaby wah? whats below the Gm-II? i cant tell what that is below the crybaby - looks like a compressor of some sort but i have no clue

the last thing was - i thought there were rumors flying around he used a JMP-1 modded by voodoo amps live? instead its john suhr's modified marshalls?

just curious. thanks

yeah, one of the newer GW's did his rig. if no one posts it i'll scan a copy later tonight.
he is using the 500watt MosValve poweramp. it's a SS poweramp but it sure does sound pretty good

The old black and yellow MosValve amps sound and work great. I have owned the 80/80 and the 250/250 and both were killer. The later Genz Benz ones with the other logos are crap. Spot welded transformers that came loose 90% of the time. Made in China and just generally suck ass.

I had a Mosvalve and it sounded great. Cantrell used for a short while too back in the early days. The pots were scratchy though. Known issue with these units.

speaking of which, i need to clean mine this weekend

I want to say the MosValve 862 is the amp I've been trying to get to run my Blackstar into. Get rave reviews.

I think TubeWorks is a company put together by Tom Scholz of Boston.

The main amps Doug has used for years have been John Suhr/Martin Golub and Cameron modded Marshalls  The JMP-1 has never been used live by Doug, but he did use a Voodoo Amps V-Rock head on tour for a bit.

The Mosvalve is the 500 model, its all SS. The unit below the Rackmount Crybaby is the Furman PQ-3. Below the GMajor-II is the Boss SE-70 and CAE Dual Stereo Mini Mixer, they share a rackspace as they're only half rack size.

Hope this helps man!

It's the MV-962. :D

Tom Scholz didn't have anything to do with Tubeworks. The designs were from B.K. Butler. Scholz did Rockman.
