Found one with NOS tubes the other day for a stupid low price.

Anyone have experience with these?

Oh yeah, the kid behind the counter did not know what my Charvel was...............................

LOUD, heavy, and clean. Think Hiwatt. Young guys go nuts for those amps. Buy and and flip it if you don't like it. I know several guys in my town that would buy it in a second.
Jerry

Ryan in Engineer uses one. It used to be my amp. Too damn loud for me!
Jerry

Seems like a cool amp and simple enough to mod if needed, sucker has 6 power tubes.

$350 it is listed for.

If it's the amp in the pic and it's that clean you should be able to get double that or more for it. Those are hot these days. Not a good amp for mods.
Jerry

Not the one in the pic but it is clean, only blem is an analog db meter mounted to the front of the headshell.

Randy, you know I am not afraid of loud

It would be played out on the deck :D

I had one of those for a long time. I got it for $150 in a pawn shop. Yes, loud and clean - I used to run my Sansamp GT-2 into the front - that was an awesome tone!

So..................thinking this is a plexi type amp would be the wrong assuption correct?

Yup zero on the break up meter, stays clean for light years. You should get it, run a POD threw it and post a clip, just because ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just like said above, they are very loud and clean, and very Hiwattish as I think some sound city were designed by Dave Reeves of Hiwatt fame. I think that some have the partridge trannies and the old mustard caps just like hiwatts , as well and are ptp with no pcb boards, along with the nos tubes U said were in there. It looks like its in very nice condition as well. Some sound good with bass too.

i think that is one of the later models with an active tone network.(i think!!!) there's a few guys that have modded them to hiwatt specs on tgp. i think i had a thread on these awhile back. might have been on tgp.

I am going to pull the sucker out and take some photos and blast them out to my amp guy for some direction.

120+ cheap watts really has me hard right now.

'Nice giant power transformer on that one. It should be incredibly loud!

meh, hang in there. :gethim:

it'll be Natas time before you know it!

The Iron in this was huge and had aluminum shields around them

Going to pass, will keep funds for another nmv marshall.
