Sound Problem with Diezel Herbert

Hi everyone,

This is my first post in this forum, however I'm a passive member for some time ;)

I have a Diezel Herbert for 2 and a half years now and over the last weeks
the sound started to annoy me. It became sounding fuzzy, way to bright
with no warmth at all (on channel 2 and 3) even with my darkest sounding
guitar. To put it simple: it sounds like shit
I did contact Peter Stapfer about the issue and he send me some new
preamp tubes that I put in yesterday but it did not solve the problem.

So maybe you guys have an idea of whats wrong with Herbert?

I tested the power amp section with a Marshall JMP1 running into the
serial loop return and that sounded cool, no buzz, etc.
Is it still possible that the problem comes from the power tubes?

Thanks :)
Markus

If it's El34B's (TAD/RUBY/SINO...ect.), then yes, they're dead that's what they do. Every set I had that died did the same thing. VERY unreliable tubes, when they sound good they sound good though.

Yes, they are Ruby EL34s.

So I will order some new ones and install them.

By the way, what's the best place to get the SED EL34 Winged C in Germany?
Does anybody know?
