ok so since Jer is the official SA expert here please confirm this for me.

can you REALLY use CC message to change the effect TYPE? if so with MIDI ONE of the modulation pedals is ALL of their modulation sounds in the series? the overdrive this way is 40 different drives?

If that is true even though there is some slight quirkiness that you require the neuro HUB is it a small price to pay for the most versatile digital pedal EVER at this price point.

Ive been obsessing over the source audio one series for days. they are amazingly; rack mount powered units with so MANY additional unrelated options and every single possible application thought of. relay bypassing, Midi, EQ, LP filters, Noise gate.

if so every guitarist should get an overdrive and one modulation pedal, an expression and a midi controller. rig done.

im sold.
The answer is... sort of.

With the effects pedals, the Gemini Chorus, Lunar Phaser, Mercury Flanger can ALL swap each others sounds. The odd duck is the Vertigo Tremolo. For some reason it is the only one that won't do this. With the Drive pedals, the Kingmaker Fuzz, LA Lady OD and Aftershock Bass Distortion can also load each others sounds. You can "burn" up to 6 presets on each pedal. The thing is you HAVE to use the Source Audio Hub for midi controllability.

So for a full on multi unit you could do:
• Hub, Mod Effect, Delay, Verb and have 128 full on presets sung ANY of the available sound engines EXCEPT Tremolo.

The only other thing I need to figure out is that with all the routing I THINK you can have the Mod effect in the loop, out front or BOTH! I am testing this soon hopefully. Since on the drive pedals you can effectively load 2 drive engines (one per in/out) I want to see if I can sent the RAT to the front of my amp from out 1 and the Clean Boost to my effects loop for a solo boost. The fact that you can stack 2 drives on the pedal is awesome. You can sum them to mono or split to stereo and send one to each side. You can see I have the Phaser and Chorus. That's because I like my Univibe/Phaser/Flanger sounds out front. If that routing thing I am going to try works, I will off one of the pedals to free up space.

If you are on The Gear Page, they are doing a tourbox of the Nemesis and 2 mod effects I think. That's how I got into them last year.

cool thanks for the help, you CAN do that with the LA lady one of the reasons i want it. the chorus pedal cold only be used full stereo with one side going to the front and one in the loop. may sound crappy though. cant run two mod engines at once only split the ins and outs many different ways.

im in gonna order at least two and the hub. the overdrive and one mod.

thus far i see no point in these pedals being named or being different colors UNLESS you will never dig deeper than out of the box use. its basically a piece of hardware, everything is variable. if MIDI is your bag you can literally choose by color. you buy as many mod boxes as you want to use at one time for multi fx and one gain based pedal. hell i will even be using the LA lady with my bass guitar and the bass distortions and low end filters. may even negate (lol) the need fpr a gate.

how is the A/D conversion in front of the amp? do you I am very picky. right now my dry signal is entirely analog, all effects are in paralell loop. using this overdrive would change that for me, its the only thing i worry about.

thanks for all the help.

yeah man they developed the One Series format with people that DON'T want to have to use technology in mind. So for the Lunar, on the pedal you get 2 dedicated Phaser sounds and a really good Univibe and you can save presets without having to use midi. For $149 and there is always 15% off from retailers, you are almost an idiot not to try them. For those who are tweakers, the possibilities just get endless. The simple stomp box approach is brilliant i think.

In regards to the a/d conversion, have you checked out the vid I did comparing the Kingmaker to the Basic Audio Scarab? It sounded and felt spot on to the analog pedal. Even the lawyer crew at TGP agreed. The drives "feel" great when playing. I chose the Kingmaker for two reasons. First... COLOR and logo! LOL! I don;t like the color of the LA or the typeface they used. Second, I really like the straight gain of all my amps. The fuzz pedals I had at the time were all $250 and up and didn't want to have to take 3 or 4 of them to a gig. Once i matched the tone of the Scarab, I started offing my fuzz pedals.
