So what‘s the thing with reissues sounding worse as the real deal? Different brand of caps? Different type of resistors (Carbon Comp)? Different transformers?

Or running electricity/electrons through all this components over years and years that sweetens up the tone by time?

I'm honestly Sceptical they do.

The transformers back then were nothing special, they weren't custom high spec things like Deyoungs for SLOs, they were more or less off the shelf.

Yeah. I think B+ can vary quite a bit through the years though and some tech’s like to have things set up a particular way. I think the circuit is always WAY more important than brands of components.

Another thing to consider is the quality and condition of the PCB, if it’s had a lot of work done the traces can start to lift and becomes more of a pain to work on. Can also be annoying to have to replace impedance selectors, valve sockets, pots etc (especially on amps like the horizontal input 800’s where the pots are mounted to the PCB).
