So, the material used in making the cabinet is the last thing to worry about.

I think the most informative part of the video is when he kept making the hole in the back bigger and the bass response went from good to bad and back to good as the hole got bigger. That is a strange phenomenon I never really gave a thought to.

Watched this last week; cool as shit

I love the styrofoam cab :D

I watched this the other day and was shocked. I can't explain why some of the cabs I owned sucked and even though they had the same speakers.

Dude really did a lot of work here. I definitely need to check out his other vids.

My splawn cabinets were duratex coated and I feel like it made the cabinets project sound more than normal. I run AX and BX cabinets right now and have never been happier.

That hole saw would fuck you up, thats why he didnt show it.

I am going to gig with styrofoam cabs…. I would look like an imp with fantastic sound.. aka Eugene Martone in Crossroads.

Only thing i didnt see was front mounted vs rear loaded. Micd wasnt a big enough difference. Wonder what it wS like in the room

Does anyone want to tell him?

He forgot about internal baffling.

If they had V30s, there's a good chance it has to do with changes to speaker production technique and components. Somehow, they've changed drastically on V30s over the years compared with other speakers, which could change their tone by a huge margin.
