Hey, folks!

I've recently become a happy owner of a head+cab (previously had no experience, cuz I'd only play through processor). I've read that a cable, connecting a head to a cabinet should be different from the one I connect my guitar to the head.

I generally want to ask about the parameters of the cable. As far as I understand, I need a round speaker (not instrument) cable. I suppose it's gotta have 2 wires. I've got a choice of

  • 2 x 4.0 mm^2
  • 2 x 2.5 mm^2
  • 2 x 1.5 mm^2
  • 2 x 1.0 mm^2
  • and so on..

Here are examples:

Additionally, there is a phrase in cables' discriptions, something like 'it's adapted for Speakon'.

Are these what I need? What cable do I choose? I've got a Diezel Herbert head and a Diezel 4x12" RL cab with Hempcone speakers (8 Ohm mono).

Thanks in advance!

Just get straight up speaker cables - tons of different manufacturers...

I've got phatties on my 100W heads, not sure the diameter, but they're not puny. VTG Audio Commercial Series - just looked at the back of one of my rigs and that's what's connecting the head to the cab. Contour 5512 Premium speaker cable on another rig...

Peace,
V.
