Hey Guys,

I have two Scumback Black Backs in a 4x12 and I was wondering what would be another speaker make and model I could use in an X-Pattern.

I want something with smooth mids and tight lows.

What do you guys think?

Have you contacted Jim at Scumback?

Which blackbacks do you have the H or the M cones?

The Scholz sugarcones are very smooth...(I happen to have two for sale).

Other than that I found Jensen NEO12-100s are quite smooth, but lack low end.

I have the Blackback M Cones. 16 ohms at 65W a piece.

I thought about M75s, GH30's or something close to those

Weber legacy's on crazy special right now 90$ shipped! Can't beat that price

I thought those were magnet designations?

That's what I thought too. M is 35 oz magnet, H is 50 oz.

They're 35 oz magnets.

I'm most likely to buy the M75 speakers as I do not like the H series.

Two more Blackbacks. Pairing them up with another speaker might be difficult. You can go H or regular M. Ask Jimbo. He'll know.

I have a pair of M75s in a 2x12...perhaps my favorite speaker.

I really like the original eminence V12's. Very throaty, punchy without the fuzz. Celestion V30's are great but can get fizzy with super high gain amps.

Not quite..PLUS shipping. For me that means + 40-50$ in shipping and customs. Still a good base price for the speaker though..My gripe with weber is that despite saying they will ship usps, they went with fedex/purolator (can't remember which) instead. My last speaker purchase was 154$ and i ended paying another 16$ or so customs. Give me a break. Fail.

I love em too. I run a V30 4x12 in tandem with a V12 loaded 2x12. I love the V30 fizz and cut as well as the throaty punch of the V12.
Absolutely epic sounding together.

I had some original Emi V12's and loved them. Not happy about moving them years ago.

With that being said, I have Scum M75's in the 100 watt, 65 watt, and some with large cones now and am pretty happy with them.

Sorry I meant H or M magnets.

For cones they are 55Hz or 75Hz cones.

I have a real interest in the Blackback H75 or H55 speakers, but when people post they have blackbacks here on other forums, its always the M55 or M75 versions.
