So my Deliverance 412 with the P50E's isn't playing as nice with the 5153 50 watt as it should. Looking for suggestions on what to X pattern the existing speakers with to get a better tone from the EVH.

Hoping I can get by with just buying two speakers right now that'll make enough of a difference. Especially since getting 4 would be steadily approaching the price of a used loaded cab. Play a variety of styles, but mainly a heavy guy. Been looking at the Warehouse British speakers a lot in the last couple of days.

Gonna try it out with a v30 loaded 1960 cab this weekend hopefully, and see how that works out.

Have the P50E had time to break in?? They're a great speaker once past the stiff stage.

Oh yeah, I bought the cab new in '08 and have been playing on it since.

Don't rule out putting the P50's on the bottom and two new one's ontop.
Sounds like you need something a little...sweeter sounding(?) More lively in the mids and some cone breakup(?)
All while staying close in wattage to the P50's I imagine, so the cab wattage handling doesn't drop too much(?)
Check these out:

Emi Governor
Emi Legend GB12
Cel Vintage 30
WGS ET65
WGS Reaper HP50
WGS Veteran 30
WGS Liberator
WGS Invader

The D cab owns, dont sell it.

30X75 thread closed.

(Id like to try Scumbacks however) :)

Also noticed you can only get 2. Id start with the 30 's and go from there.

Definitely wont be getting rid of the cab, I've liked it with every other amp I've used it with. The EVH just doesn't gel for some reason.

Thanks for the suggestions D-Rock! Been looking at a few of those so far. The Veterans are winning out at the moment. We'll see after I try the V30's this weekend. I had a Governor in a Splawn 2x12 that I used to own, mixed with a Manowar and they sounded pretty damn good. So those are front runners too.

Have you thought of just selling the VHT cab and getting an EVH 212 or 412 cab?

also, weber is running a sale on their legacy line of speakers right now, great deals there. https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/legacy12f.htm

This! The 65w Legacy is a badass speaker! I love mine! I think it would add just what you need to compliment the III.

I love the P50E's in my FB 4x12 that I pair with my 50 CL.

I agree with what blackba said, why not sell it and get you a EVH cab? I never had a 5150 but I know a lot of guys say they sound best with EVH cabs

just sell me the d412 :) ....you can buy another cab with the cash

What is that? Their take on the V30?

I recommend keeping the cab as is & buy a other cab that is voiced like you want. It will not cost much more if you buy one used. I see them cheap around (Seattle) here often.

I don't think they have a V30 type speaker in the Legacy line. Their 12V in their British series is Weber's take on the vintage 30. You can always e-mail them and ask though.

The Legacy line is more aimed at the Greenback and G12H30 style speakers.
