don't H30's allready have a bigger dust cap than say greenbacks, and therefore some of the bright part is the treble that Jim mentioned?

the parts express caps aren't the same as guitar speaker caps, or atleast any of the caps i've got.

anyways, i know dust caps matter, but i'm in the Steve Fryette school of thought that bigger magnets contribute to the harsh highs.

I wouldn't say that H30s are bright. They're definitely darker than V30s.

Seriously ? They are much brighter to my ears. The brightest Celestions made IMO.

you won't be out much if you try it on a chinese one. for sure would be interesting.

i'm still gonna go with the bigger magnet in combo with that particular speaker cone being the issue.

G12-65 speakers have a large dust cap and are not bright. So I think there is something to be said for the dust cap size as it relates to the brightness.

I find that G12T-75's are brighter than anni G12H30's, but I have found G12H30's, V30's, and CL80's all to be too bright with certain amps/cabs.

I really like anni G12H30's as they are, they seem to be a love them or hate them speaker, much like Vintage 30's in that regard....

It doesn't hurt to try....

Give it a shot and report back!!!
