Just got my Zoom G3 hooked up and noticed that I hear reverb even with the effects turned off. Any idea why that might be?

The effects sound great and I like the unit.

What's the loop question?
Really? The G3 is in the loop. With effects all switched off I still hear reverb. I am asking why that might be.

Are you saying it still comes through even with the fx Loop on the amp bypassed, or are you talking about shutting off the effect unit while its still in the loop, and still hearing it?

So I have a patch on the G3 with chorus/delay/verb. With the unit on but each effect turned off, you can still hear effects. Mostly reverb.

yeah sounds like a G3 problem man. I'm not familiar with it, does it have any kind of parallel signal chain running? is it matched up right with the line/instrument level switch in back of the amp?

Not sure about the level on back. Should it be the 4db or 10db? Doesn't say on the Zoom manual. Seriously y'all I don't know squat about effects. I am sure it's user error.

with the zoom unit on but the effects off..it sounds like the effects still bleeding through somehow

If its meant to be run like a pedal in front of the amp, it would be instrument level, and would use -10db. If it uses line level, that would be the +4db setting. I don't know your unit, but it should say somewhere in the product description.

It's not the loop, it's the zoom get rid of it?
Well I think I may need to trouble shoot a little more yet ...

Edit:
Hit YouTube. Looks like there were more effects set. I went and set it to "thru" signal. Too late at night to turn the amp on. Will have to check in the am.

So got it figured out. The only issue now is there is a bit of noticeable loss in gain definition with the Zoom. I guess that's the "tone suck". Not terrible but just enough to irk me.

I still have 2 weeks to return it to Sam Ash. I just need to get time to go down there with the Splawn. I want to try some pedals out and buy a few at the same time. Definitely want to hook it all up and make sure the tone is compromised as little as possible. I am fairly sold on the MXR Zakk Chorus. Not sure about the Delay or Reverb. I'll see what they have in.

Dude...I had that same setup for awhile...zoom with my amp...return it. I liked it at first, but soon saw the tone suckage as well. Go Strymon...and love life.

Strymon is a little out of the budget but the Zoom is going back.
