Has anyone played one of these? The video on the Splawn website sounds pretty damn good.
Are Splawns effects loops any good?

The amp itself is amazing! but i have to say i am not a fan of splawns FX loops at all...

I really dig my effects loop on the new 2010 QR. Once you crank up the volume a bit I can't even tell the difference.

Yep just got a 2010 Splawn Quickrod and the amp is awesome  The new effects loop is much better

Fuk man that sounded great!!! Damn there are just a lot of kick ass amps out there.........

The tone on that video rips, I would love to own a Street Rod.

Scott Splawn is a great hard rock/classic metal guitar player and I think that's a big part of why his amps sound so good if that's the sound you're looking for.

Same thing with Mark Cameron.

I got one 2 weeks ago From Josh. Great to deal with
Street Rod rocks  I've owned a Quick Rod and a Modded Splawn Marshall. This is way better. Love it. Saturation is there, TV volume is there, TONEZ is in there. Really is great amp. Into a Bogner 4x12 with EVH Celestions never been better. I can sell my 101B

Hey Zwengo.
I am looking at these a street rod head seriously .Is it a lot less stiff than the QR?
the one thing I hear a lot of is the Splawn is very dry .Most of the amps I dig are more SLO, CAE ,Bogner does this one get closer to those .

Not stiff at all you can play at will on it. Feeling is way different than the Quick Rod I had. I have a 101b now and just sold a SLO. Feels similar to a Diezel Einstein on the lead channel.

the dryness is one of the reasons of splawns sounding so good and articulated at any volume
probably cause they don't have a cathode follower

you can always get a Shiva combo for about the same price if you want something fat and wet
the Alchemist is pretty good as well, and it's about $900 brand new
that amp really surprised me

That Street Rod sounds great. I have to say the loop was the major reason why I sold the Quick Rod I owned (it was an older version). I hear the newer ones (like the Street Rod) have improved effects loops. I would like to try a Street Rod. The You Tube clips sound great!

It really does sound good, I am starting to have GAS, and I never get GAS! Something may have to be sold soon.

That sounds really good. Along with the Mesa ED these sound like some of the best combos out there.

zewango ,
Does the QR have more gain available than the Street rod ?

Thanks

I purchased a QR a few months ago. What are the differences between the "OLD" and the "NEW" effects loops, and how do I know if I have the "NEW" one?
