I say you just go full out with the Quickrod, even if you won't use the clean channel and just roll down the volume, having it just adds that extra option if you want a particular tone from a pedal or something. While the Quickrod does clean up nicely, it never hurts to have another dedicated channel :thumbsup:
 
honestly, it's worth it in the long run. For me, I don't feel completely satisfied until I get it all, because then I always wish it could do it.

I agree. The QR does clean up nicely, but in my band playing the same styles you mentioned, I "need" a clean channel for some songs, and rolling back just doesn't cut it. IMHO.

Maybe a used QR would be a better option for you monetarily than a new Super Comp or whatever?

yeah, i'm gonna look into it. give a talk to Dal or Scott and see what they think
