Splitting Guitar Signal Into 2 Amps

Preference would be something really small and unpowered, not a larger A/B box

Don't use that box. A "Y" cable would be better than that box. (if at least one of your amps has a ground lift switch you can fix hum problems)

Your biggest problem will probably be phase. You'll have to be going through the same number of tube stages on each amp to match phase, since the phase flips 180 after every stage.

If you find yourself out of phase, you'll have to swap the + (tip) and - (sleeve) connection in one of the cabs.

Just FYI it gets even more problematic if you plan on switching channels, because that can throw your phase off again.

I dont think that box has isolation transformers to prevent ground hum. The specs on sweetwater's site dont give enough info though... I have gone a few ways here with Lehle, Voodoo Lab and Radial products. Now I am getting by with the dual outputs from a Boss MS-3 and an Ebtech HumX on one amp. This keeps anything extra off my pedalboard and works well for my two amp rig...

Lehle P-Split ii(super high quality with isolation transformer and phase reverse if needed) and your fav boost(or a buffer) for low impedance conversion...I use the Koko boost original and Lehle P-split ii combo with great results.

Just watched a rig rundown on metallica and noticed they sum their signals into a mini RJM mixer...
May be worth a look.

If you anything out front with power, then just split with a Y-cable. If you aren't running anything out front, you need a powered buffer to drive the signal to split it. A good buffer can be found with phase inverting options to solve any phase issues, as noted above.

I have been running an Evh and a Randall diavlo split with a stereo chorus, but had to lift the ground on one of my power cables. Probably not the safest way, but has worked flawlessly and no noise or polarity issues otherwise.
