are BS. IMO

As the actual property owner you have to engage law enforcement, attorneys to file legal eviction process, and monitor your property taxes, etc. i.e., the onus is on the actual property owner. If you block or prevent the squatter from access to your property, you can be fined and arrested. If you wait too long to take formal legal action against the squatter, you are in for an even longer and more costly legal battle....

how is this even possible?

Yah I know someone that lost some property because of that shit. Ridiculous.

Never had trouble with squatters.

Found a few bones, but that's about it.

It’s a pendulum. Historically, landlords have been scumbags (disclaimer: I am a landlord) Now it’s swung the other way.

Anyone facing this kind of thing needs to be creative or know someone that is.

landlords vs tenants is one thing; the squatters are different entirely. they just move in and it's up to the property owner to get rid of them. like having termites. :D

The landlord needs to be selective in the vetting process and to be proactive with his tenants.

Slumlords getting treated like slumlords don’t garner much sympathy from me.

squatters are different, as I said. They invade a property they don't own and have no right to access (trespassing), and refuse to leave. It's up to the property owner to get them off the property while the squatters can destroy the property; a good example is in the video. He had a commercial property that was invaded by squatters; the city held him responsible for the condition of his property, fined him, put a lien on his property, while refusing to process and assist with his efforts to follow the law to remove them from his property.

I’m gonna need more than a YouTube video.

That google search was interesting. It pretty much states everywhere, unequivocally, that the owner of the property retains the rights. Even with the advent of weirdos out there trying to freeload.
if they follow the process; and deal with whatever happens to their property during the often drawn out legal process; some property owners actually lose their property.

this was a recent case in Atlanta, where the government actually helped the property owner:

Bro is that a luxury RV? I'm really just thinking about cashing in my chips and going that route. That way I can squat wherever I want.

my plan is to get an oceangoing sailboat I can singlehand, and sail the Caribbean part of each year; starting with the Bahamas, over 700+ islands there alone, many uninhabited.

hope no squatters decide to take my house while I'm sailing.

My buddy has a charter catamaran and that's what he does. He and his wife just take guests back and forth between the islands, but I'm not paying $13k a week to hang out with him!
