I have a set of Dunlop strap locks on a planet waves strap, and one of the strap locks out of the set is damn squeaky. I thought that maybe it was the piece that was mounted to that end of the guitar, but it turns out if I swap the strap around, the sound follows the strap.

Any remedies for this? It's damn annoying and loud as hell.

Spray some WD40 on the parts Randy, i had to do this literally before last night's gig because it was so squeaky.. the squeaks were being amplified through my rig!!

I have Dunlop strap loks too and I put a dab of 3in1 oil in it.

As a general rule of thumb, I oil anything on the guitar that moves. No squeaks or rattles, and they always move like they are supposed to.

The Fender/Schaller loks are the worse. I had a set on my strat and the U shape thing rides on the button. Squeaks like hell on both ends that the guitar vibrates from it.

As stated above, it goes to the amp.

leave it alone and then you can squeak out a lead

comedy gold!

Funny you said that. With the Fender/Schaller loks I was squeaking it while I was playing Tom Morello style. :D

It's just goofing around but it was fun. Put a little spice in the music.
